I am a midwesterner living in Los Angeles who loves talking about her city. You will find me at art exhibits, drinking coffee, listening to music, and trying a new restaurant or pop-up somewhere in the world.
On repeat in my house: The Last Dinner Party
Last Favorite Meal: Aiana
What the heck, Ottawa? This city has really upped its food game. The new local and sustainable restaurants and bars continue to blow my mind.
Aiana is on my top five meals of 2026. Every dish was a stunner and better than the last. It really surprised me.
I would convince anyone going to Canada to add a weekend in Ottawa to their list.
Last Favorite Exhibit: The LACMA Geffen Galleries
I am an unapologetic museum nerd and worked at one of the most famous museums in the world for almost fifteen years. I spent my days off visiting other museums and enjoying their programs.
Recently, I visited the long-awaited and controversial Geffen Galleries at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. I was surprised how much I loved it. I have a lot of hot takes.
Last Destination I planned: Montreal
My client is a jazz singer who recently moved to Canada. Montreal was a perfect city to visit in her first year–with Montreal Jazz Fest on the list.
I love Montreal. Its energy. Its outstanding food at any budget. How the city incorporates nature and history seamlessly into its fabric.
I planned a weekend of can’t-miss restaurants and experiences to tackle between performances — including the best poutine in the city and my favorite interactive museum.
My Favorite Cities
A Beautiful Walkable Downtown
There are beautiful, boutique hotels downtown close to the Mississippi River, top restaurants, and entertainment.
It is one of the best food cities IMO
This city flies too far under the radar when it comes to food. Here you can find cuisines you can’t find anywhere else and hospitality that always makes you feel like you are part of something.
It is full of art
I grew up here, visiting museums and learning about its tight-knit artist community. From world-renowned theater to the museum that changed how I viewed art, this is a place the artsy call home and appreciate.
It’s 88 cities in one
There are neighborhoods for every vibe. If you aren’t into the touristy spots, I can recommend a dozen other neighborhoods that include historic hotels, spots close to the action but not full of crowds, quiet retreats, and whatever you want Los Angeles to be on your trip.
I know this city like the back of my hand. Put me to work planning your trip.
Fantastic food at any budget
Los Angeles’ food scene is diverse–both in cuisine and price. Here you can eat a Michelin two-star at night and get one of the best tacos you’ve had in your life for lunch the next day.
I have so many favorites I would love to share.
It’s an all-year city
There is no ski season, leaf-peeping season, or season you want to avoid because of extreme temperatures. It’s a great place to be all year.
There are weekly flea and farmers’ markets. Nothing is closed for the season. Outdoor concerts happen all the time.
Touristy, but worth it attractions
Barcelona is home to the architect Antoni Gaudí. Here you will find many of his creations on view, including La Sagrada Familia. Thousands of people view it every day, and there is good reason. Everyone should see it in their lifetime.
Where gastronomy is local and playful
My favorite food city in the world has something for everyone. From deceptively simple local dishes to element-defying creations, you will find chefs passionate about local ingredients.
An ancient city hiding in plain sight
Barcelona is an ancient city with thousands of years of history, even before the city was officially founded in 15 BCE. Beneath the city’s famous markets, you will see ruins of what once was.
